Measure the route as well as the final space

Check doors, lifts, corridors, stairs and turns before delivery. Record the appliance dimensions, niche size and ventilation clearances from the manufacturer specifications. A unit can fit the cabinet yet fail to pass through the building route.

For managed buildings, confirm visitor registration, loading access, lift protection and permitted work hours. Share these requirements before the appointment to reduce delays.

Confirm utilities and installation type

Identify water, drain, electrical and gas requirements from the official product documentation. Do not assume an old connection suits a new model. Built-in appliances may require cabinetry, ventilation or circuit work outside standard installation.

Photograph the existing space and connections without opening electrical panels. Tell the installer whether the old unit needs disconnection or removal and whether property approval is required.

Record testing and handover

After installation, check levelling, door movement, water connections, drainage, ventilation and a suitable functional cycle. Keep packaging until visible damage and operation have been checked.

The handover record should identify installation work, any excluded correction, payment and warranty information. Manufacturer registration may be separate from the installer’s service record.
